What a busy few months of Member Events

One of the most popular features of our New Wave Club memberships are our group events. It gives our members an opportunity to socialise and meet other like minded people on the water and explore new areas further afield with one of our experienced Instructors / skippers always on hand to give tips and advice.

So here's just some of the fun we've been having in the Club over the last few months.

Cruise to Yarmouth for lunch in the George

There's no better way to start a members event than with a coffee, pastry and morning brief from our Instructor Tim on the terrace at our base in Port of Poole Marina. Tim gave our members some helpful tips when planning a trip such as this from Poole to Yarmouth, including suitable weather and tidal conditions, hazards, entering Yarmouth and finding a visitor Berth.

With everyone fuelled and ready to go we jumped on the boats and for this particular trip we took 3 of our Fleet, Nixie (Axopar 28 Cabin), Kiki (Beneteau Antares 7) and Coco (Brig Eagle 6.7). This gave members an opportunity to handle the different style of boats across a longer passage.

After a delicious lunch in the George's outside garden which with it's high walls is a fantastic sun trap we made the return leg to Poole with equally calm conditions.

Sunrise adventure for Summer Solstice

When one of the members suggested a Summer Solstice Sunrise trip, we thought it would be a hard sell to get members to meet at the marina at 04.15 Am and almost dismissed it as an idea. But ran with it anyway and got a great uptake and equally great sunrise to match.

A jaunt out to Old Harry Rocks, a lovely sunrise , a bacon sandwich and coffee back in the marina all ticked off and done by 06.30am. Allowing some of us to return home to the rest of the family just surfacing and jump on the school run in plenty of time, winner!

Exploring the Wareham River with lunch in The Priory Hotel

Being based in the worlds second largest natural harbour and on the edge of the Jurassic Coast we are spoilt for destinations to go boating and jetskiing. But one of the lesser explored areas is to head inland in the harbour and cruise up the Wareham River. It is certainly one to plan around suitable tides but when it is a very different kind of boating to enjoy compared to many of our coastal trips. The added bonus is the Priory Hotel with its private pontoons at the end of it's impeccably manicured Gardens which made for the perfect lunch spot.

Durdle Door, The Needles and more..

Also we can't forget to mention some of our more regular trips which have become members favourites including cruising over to the needles for a Sat morning Breakfast, or exploring Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast followed by a pit stop at Joes Cafe in Studland which has to have one of the best 'Cafe Views' in the whole of the UK.

If reading this has wet your appetite for some adventures out on the water do get in touch and we'd love to welcome you down to meet the team and learn more about our different boat and jetski membership options.
